Spring is in the air and so are allergies.
Allergins come from the food you eat, the flowers and trees and the medications you take.
What are you CRAVING? Why do you Crave it?
Food craving can be triggered by hunger, deficiencies, hormones, or some emotional button like fear, depression, stress or frustration. Some folks have even experienced "Junk Food" Cravings (literally Non-Food) such as paint chips, let your doctor know. You may be suffering from Magpie Disease or Pica.
Here are a Few Ways to Handle your Cravings if they get out of control!
Give In: That's right I said to give in. Don't Over indulge but go ahead and have a little. Everything in Moderation.
Craving Spicy? Your digestive system maybe running a little slow. So go ahead and Spice it up and Speed it up.
Craving Ice? I have always heard that craving and chewing ice was a sign of sexual frustration. While I have no proof of that I can say that Craving Ice could be a sign of an Iron deficiency.
Craving Sweet? (who doesn't lol ) Chocolate is partnered with a need for magnesium. When you are under stress, your body uses up magnesium. So go ahead have a piece, try Dark Chocolate too! If your not looking for Chocolate try Fruit. It will raise your blood sugar and stop the craving for sweet. But be careful Fruit is full of sugar so if your Diabetic be sure you watch how much you eat. Sugar-Free is best for you.

Certain Herbs can help with Digestion and thus take care of some of your cravings.Try this one before meals.
Mix equal parts: Dandelion Root, Centaury, Chamomile and Fennel
Steep 2 teaspoons in 1cup Hot Water for 20 minutes. Strain. Drink 1/4 to 1/3 cup before meals. CAUTION!!!! Dandilion id rich in Potassium and should not be taken with potassium tablets. Also if your allergic to Ragweed stay away from the Chamomile.
Food Cravings equated with Stress can be settled with gentle massages with Essential Oils. Rub a drop or 2 of Peppermint, or Chamomile or Lavendar (my favorite), into your temples and the back of your neck . Dont forget to breath deep and relax. If your skin is sensitive to the Essential Oils apply a little bit of Vegetable Oil or Lotion onto your skin first.
So give in a little bit. Take a walk, get a massage, don't eat food that gives you any reaction except yummy! Listen to oyur body. It may be trying to tell you something!
